Symposium to offer Florida DEP-approved CEUs and PDHs: 2.0 CEUs

Symposium attendees will now be able to get Florida-DEP approved CEUs and PDHs. This means that attendees can receive 2.0 CEUs (credit equivalent units) that they can use towards their Florida Department of Environmental Protection state water operator license and/or state wastewater operator license.  Florida licensed engineers can also get 20 PDHs (professional development hours) from attending the symposium.

  • Attendees can get 2.0 CEUs to use as continuing education for their Florida operator licenses.
  • Florida engineers (PEs) can get 20 PDHs for their continuing education requirements
  • Attendees can also get 20 PDHs via the ISA as professional development hours.

The Florida DEP-approved CEUs (Continuing Education Credits) and PDHs (Professional Development Hours) can be used to fulfill annual continuing education requirements for several types Florida-state licenses. The 2.0 CEUs can be used towards Florida-state issued water operator licenses and wastewater operator licenses.  For Florida licensed engineers, the 20 PDHs can be used towards their continuing education requirements.

We are able to offer the Florida DEP recognized CEUs/PDHs thanks to our partnership with the Florida Section of the AWWA.  During the last few months we have been working with the Florida AWWA to be able to offer these CEUs/PDHs for our attendees in both the water and wastewater sectors.  The Florida AWWA is a registered education provider with the Florida DEP, and has granted us a registered Florida DEP “course number” of 0513001. A copy of the official course approval can be viewed here.   The Florida DEP approved CEUs/PDHs will be issued by the Florida AWWA, and will be made available to attendees shortly after the symposium. An application form for the CEUs and PDHs will be available at the symopsium. Attendees will receive a CEU/PDH certificate in the mail, and their CEUs will be registered into the Florida CEU/PDH database.  The cost of the certificate is included in the symposium registration.

Attendees who are outside of the Florida, will also have the option of getting PDHs (professional development hours) through the ISA. An official PDH certificate will be provided. The ISA-provided PDHs can be used in other jurisdictions to meet continuing education requirements where applicable.

Optional Full-Day Course

For the optional full-day short course on Automation & SCADA Security on August 7th, a separate announcement regarding CEUs will be made shortly. At present attendees of the full-day short course can receive 0.7 CEUs from the ISA, which is a IACET certified education provider.
